The Institute for the Theology of Culture: New Wine, New Wineskins' spring conference is titled, "For the Least of These," and features keynote speaker Dr. John Perkins of the John M. Perkins Foundation for Reconciliation & Development.
JMPF seeks to encourage and develop "leaders and resources to further the vision of holistic Christian Community Development and racial reconciliation." Dr. Perkins has been an advisor to several US Presidents on issues related to race and poverty. He is also the author of numerous books, including "Let Justice Roll Down," "With Justice for All," and "Beyond Charity." He is a profound and prophetic speaker, who has addressed government leaders, academic audiences, and community groups across the nation and throughout the world. Charles Marsh of the University of Virginia writes at length about Dr. Perkins' work in his recent book, "Beloved Community." According to Marsh, Perkins has taken forward the ideals launched by Dr. King and others in the Civil Rights Movement and has incarnated them in his holistic enterprise of concrete community development work.
